Advertising usually does not influence me. One major exception to that rule is anything having to do with explorations/expeditions to dangerous places. Even if I won’t do it myself (knowingly), I still love things that were made for/proven by such activities. The Rolex Explorer II reviewed below is one such item. Since being created in the 50s, it (and its successors) have been taken on all sorts of dangerous missions. And while one historical element is a bit controversial*, it’s still a time tested and reliable watch.
Aside from the history, the Explorer II has, imho, one of the best GMT hand implementations.
It’s also quite thin for a contemporary sports watch.
