A Review of Centrally Mounted Chronographs (Aquastar Benthos/Seiko 5717/Lemania 5100)

The centrally mounted chronograph is a historically underappreciated complication that has (seemingly) been overshadowed by the traditional small subdial layout. Despite that, some very interesting (and useful) models have been produced over the decades*. Be sure to watch the video below to learn more about them:

* I omitted the valjoux 728, which was a central chronograph modified valjoux 72. It was used in the Certina Chronolympic Regatta from 1971.
